We started the month of April supervising the conversion of our cottage into an Inn, as well as enclosing our dining veranda with glass. Each project has taken a life of its own.

Posada Los Olivos

The Inn launch based on the review from one of our guests is a success. Here is the review

Thank you, Victor, Susan, Myra and Farid, for making our stay so memorable.

You mentioned we were the first guests to stay at Posada Los Olivos, your four-room inn on the property. It was cozy, inviting and a perfect agri-tourism experience. Our dinner of grilled lamb chops paired with your property’s red wine blend was exquisite as was our delicious Mexican breakfast. We wanted a quick escape from town and this fit the bill. We lounged by the pool, walked the property with Farid as he explained to us the copious variety of olives you grow. Enjoyed star gazing without the light pollution in town! The icing on the cake was a relaxing massage with Myra using your olive based products. Came home with the olive oil/mint massage oil - my new favorite! We love the enhancements you’re making to the property and look forward to returning!”

This project continues with the listing on various travel platforms, and marketing. Soon the building of six more individual cottages will begin. If you are looking to experience the countryside of San Miguel while still enjoying the offerings of our colonial city please consider a stay at The Posada los Olivos. We offer complementary transportation to and from The Luciernaga Shopping Center. We have listed introductory rates for any reservations made by May 15 for stays through the 2025.

Our Restaurant

Last month we posted pictures of our architect’s rendition of the renovation of our dining veranda. The rendition is spectacular. However, it called for wooden windows and doors which we concluded would be a very costly endeavor. We opted to follow the same design but with metal. Our staff surprised us with their skills. After two days of testing, we designed an incredible system with sliding glass windows which not only helps to protect from the elements but allows for an open-air environment. Soon will be installing a special film used in skyscrapers to prevent birds from flying into the glass.

The Menu

Over the years we have struggled to find the right positioning of our dining venue. We know we have a talented staff and a unique country property.  Finding an appropriate menu has been a difficult endeavor with successes as well as failures. The failures are defined as a menu which fails to attract visitors. During this past month we ran the gamut of menu development options until we landed on a simple approach. We will focus on cuisine using olive oil by crafting fine dining international menus for dinners and migrating our lunch menu to high end Mexican cuisine with olive oil along with some international favorites.

“Our wine and cheese evening was wonderful too! The bucolic, garden setting was beautiful and watching the red vermillion flycatchers and ravens was spectacular. Not to mention Victor’s stories made for a fun and entertaining evening. Thank you, Susan and Victor, for your hospitality. Always fun at your place”
