Japanese Cooking Class

Enjoy an afternoon at this month’s open cooking class featuring traditional Japanese dishes. You will begin by cooking in our open air teaching area and then proceed with your group to our dining veranda to enjoy the following lunch.

  • Gyoza are dumplings stuffed with a savory filling which will be prepared by us ahead of time. You may choose a vegetarian or meat filling. The key to perfect gyoza lies in the preparation. First they are pan-fried to get the signature, crispy outer layer. Then, they are finished by covering and steaming them to ensure the filling is cooked through.

Japanese spinach salad with sesame

  • Blanched spinach dressed in a savory nutty sesame sauce, this Japanese Spinach Salad with Sesame Dressing (Gomaae) is a healthy veggie side dish that goes well with everything.

Chicken Katsu

  • A crispy, crunchy chicken cutlets topped with a sweet-salty tonkatsu sauce

Vegetable tempura

  • A traditional Japanese dish that consists of some veggies that are battered and deep-fried, ours is prepared with extra virgin olive oil

Yakisoba Noodles

  • Yakisoba noodles look similar to ramen noodles, but they are slightly different. They are made of wheat and best when stir-fried. A traditional yakisoba dish is made with thin slices of carrots, cabbage, onions and a signature sweet and salty sauce. This dish will be prepared with chicken but if you prefer you may substitute tofu for a fully vegetarian dish!

Matcha ice cream

  • Matcha powder is a fine bright green powder of special green tea leaves which have been ground. We will prepare a delicious traditional Japanese ice cream using matcha for you to enjoy during your meal.
